SuperHeroes poker playing cards.

 I've created a themed 54-card poker deck inspired by the universe of Marvel and also DC Comics. It's important to remember that this deck is nothing more than a joke but also a graphic exercise that bears an obvious resemblance to the characters from Tim Burton's wonderful universe. A card game that simply aims to bring a smile to all those comic book or board game collectors who enjoy playing or collecting these types of original items. 2.48 X 3.46 inches.

Punk Rock Tarot Deck. Lux Box.

 

PUNK ROCK TAROT DECK BY FRAN CARRAS

  For this deck I have drawn the 78 cards that make up the Tarot universe trying to reflect a more rebellious and nihilistic universe, specifically that of the punk rock scene.

To do this I have transformed the different archetypes that make up the Major and minor Arcana in anarchic characters with colorful crests and flashy clothes, in a carefree but non-conforming attitude, sometimes even violent, which characterized this youth movement. To create the minor arcana I have been inspired by the different scenes beautifully illustrated by Pamela Colman for the very popular Rider-White tarot and I have turned them into nice punk scenes full of symbolism and references to this musical movement.

Taking into account that the punk motto was: There is no Future, this tarot can hardly be considered predictive. Moreover, considering another motto which said: Die young and leave a beautiful corpse, it cannot be considered a therapeutic tarot either. Otherwise, and if there is an uninhibited complicity between the tarot reader and the seeker, this is a fully functional tarot and I would say that it is much more fun than the conventional ones. @tarot

Amigos, se acuerdan ustedes de Wacky Races, los autos locos? Mis favoritos eran los hermanos Macana, pero el auto que mas me molaba era el Espantomovil.

SUPERHEROES TAROT

                          

He realizado un tarot temático de 30 cartas inspirado en el universo de los superhéroes clásicos de Marvel y también de DC comics.

He convertido un valiente grupo de superhéroes (y algún supervillano también) en los conocidos 22 Arcanos Mayores del tarot, a los que he añadido otros 6 Arcanos Mayores de mi propia invención para la ocasión.

La baraja termina con una carta en la que se incluye el listado completo de Arcanos en inglés y una carta final con la ilustración de la caja, una parodia de la portada del popular cómic The Secret Wars. Pues no hay que olvidar que este tarot no es mas que una parodia. Un chiste, pero además un ejercicio gráfico que guarda un evidente e intencionado parecido con los personajes del maravilloso universo de Tim Burton.

Un juego de cartas que tan solo pretende sacar una sonrisa a todos aquellos coleccionistas de comics o de tarots que gusten de coleccionar este tipo de artículos originales.

Denny Colt fue un tipo corriente, un poli bueno, que tuvo que morir para que naciera un mito. La vida tiene estas cosas amargas a veces, pero bueno, esto fue hace mucho, en 1940, y desde entonces ya ha llovido lo suyo.

Ahora este es el blog de Denny, que nace con la intención de ir llenándose periódicamente con noticias, información, portadas clásicas, viñetas ilustres y curiosidades muchas acerca del clásico creado por Will Eisner.
Aunque también habrá cosas como noticias y curiosidades de lo que se está publicando ahora en DC del personaje, así como todo lo que se vaya saliendo acerca de la película de Frank Miller... También trataré otros cómics y novelas del maestro Eisner, su influencia en el noveno arte, su influencia en otras artes, en otros autores...
Todo ello será traído y tratado de una forma sencilla y amigable. Todo el mundo será bienvenido a este rincón de la blogsfera.
